Daniel thinks Harry's doomed

DANIEL Radcliffe has predicted his character Harry Potter will die in the final instalment of J.K. Rowling's famous book series.

Radcliffe, who plays the young wizard in the film version of the books, said he thought the character would die in The Deathly Hallows, the seventh and final book in the series.

Radcliffe said he had been given "no inside hints" as to just how the saga will end, but told Todayshow.com, the website of America's NBC Today Show, he had a sense of impending doom.

"I think I might die in it, but that's just my prediction," Radcliffe said.

All will be revealed when the book is released on July 21.

In the meantime Radcliffe is busy promoting the opening of the latest film, Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix.

The movie, which opens this week, is the fifth instalment of the series and fans are eager to see Harry experience his first kiss.

Radcliffe was nervous about locking lips with Katie Leung, who plays Cho Chang in the film, but said it wasn't his first on-screen kiss.

While the kiss wasn't a "big deal" for Radcliffe, it was momentous for Harry, he said.

Radcliffe experienced his first on-screen kiss filming the independent Australian drama December Boys, and bared all during a stage performance in London.

Radcliffe said it was "definitely" harder to do a nude scene than kiss Leung in the movie.
