Priyanka's special gift for her brother

Priyanka Chopra's younger brother Siddharth is probably the happiest kid in Mumbai now. His indulgent star-sister has got him the most precious gift of his life - a T-shirt signed by the entire Indian cricket team.

Recalling the episode Priyanka told IANS: "I was on my way to London on a British Airways flight. My brother Siddharth was with me - he comes to see me off every time I leave Mumbai. At the airport he nearly swooned when he spotted the entire Indian cricket team. He went ballistic. 'Didi, get them to sign my T-shirt and I'll be your slave for life.'

"I was embarrassed and horrified. How could I just go ahead and ask them to sign my brother's T-shirt? But Siddharth insisted. Then I wondered which T-shirt he wanted the team to sign since he obviously hadn't brought an extra T-shirt to the airport. To my horror, Siddharth took off the one he was wearing and gave it to me."

On flight, Priyanka hesitantly sent over a message to the team with her 17-year-old brother's request.

"I'd have loved to meet them personally and make the request on my brother's behalf. But it was a night flight and I was in the executive class while they were in business. So I just sent over the request. They happily and graciously agreed. I came out of the flight with every member of the team's signature on my brother's T-shirt."

Priyanka's demeanour lights up. "Now my brother guards the T-shirt as though his life depends on it. Of course he didn't remember his promise to be my slave for a year. The little brat!"

The year ahead is looking swell for Priyanka.

"I'll have quite a few releases this year. 'Love Story 2050' and 'Drona' will probably come one after the other at the year-end. Then I've the comedy 'God Tussi Great Ho' with Salman Khan and Amitabh Bachchan."

Abhishek-Aishwarya to wed in April?

Will they or won't they marry next month? Rumours are rife that Bollywood's hottest couple Abhishek Bachchan and Aishwarya Rai will tie the knot on April 19 at the Bachchan residence Prateeksha here.

However, a source close to the family denied an imminent wedding. "It is just a rumour, nothing else. People are saying that the cards are ready and that the date and venue are already decided, but there is no truth in these claims," he said.

Since the two stars got engaged in January, wedding-date rumours have persistently dogged the pair. The Bollywood grapevine had it that they are tying the knot on Feb 19 and when it didn't happen on that day, they put forth March 19.

Abhishek's superstar dad Amitabh Bachchan has said the family is as impatient as others, but haven't been able to finalise a day due to paucity of time.

"We still haven't got a date. The two of them are so busy, we haven't been able to sit down and work it out," Amitabh had said, while denying reports that the wedding was supposed to take place on Feb 19 or March 19.

Abhishek and Aishwarya are busy shooting for "Drona" and "Jodha Akbar", respectively

Kareena "rocks" for free!

Ever since a popular entertainment website began streaming the tracks of the forthcoming Kya Love Story Hai, the number that caught everyone's attention (not surprisingly) was the Kareena Kapoor one rendered by Alisha Chinai - It's Rocking Yaara Ishq To Karo.

Kareena's first sensational appearance after Yeh Mera Dil from Don put to music by Pritam (of Gangster and Woh Lamhe fame) was shot over four days on an expensive set at Mumbai's Filmistan studio. The video is being edited at the moment and will be released on air before the end of this month.

According to sources, Kareena has not charged the producer for doing Kya Love Story Hai, releasing on April 20 worldwide. "Lovely (Singh), the director, has been an old friend and I couldn't say no to him," is all she said.

The film is being released and distributed internationally by Studio 18.

Would BIG BROTHER be Sunny Deol's 21st century ZIDDI?

Guddi Dhanoa's BIG BROTHER would finally be hitting the screens on March 30.

The film's release has been pushed around for a while in the last couple of months but the promotion has picked up again to reaffirm March 30 as the date that has been closed upon.

Originally titled DEODHAR GANDHI, this Sunny Deol-Priyanka Chopra film has been in the making for years but unlike two other dated releases in recent times, NEHLLE PE DEHLLA and SARHAD PAAR, it is being supported by decent promotion.

Also, in spite of Sunny Deol loosing some ground in the last few years, BIG BROTHER seems like a product that would get him back into the limelight, just like ZIDDI did many years back for which director Guddu Dhanoa was at the helm too.

An action drama, it has Sunny Deol in vintage form and if the current promos on air are any indication, get ready for yet another growl-and-roar proceedings on the big screen.

What is contrasting though is the fact that the film's music boasts of some real mellow numbers especially Ustad Sultan Khan/Zubin sung 'Laal Laal' and Kunal Ganjawala/Shreya Ghoshal rendered 'Piya', both of which have a melodious romantic appeal to them and have been picked up by the lovers of good music

Aishwarya, Rohan team up for Lux ad

After "Kuch Naa Kaho", Aishwarya Rai teams up once again with Rohan Sippy, this time for a sizzling Lux commercial.

"That's right," said media recluse Aishwarya. "Rohan and I have been friends for ages. When his name cropped up for the new Lux commercial, I immediately grabbed it. We shot the ad in Dubai and it's turned out really hot," the actress told IANS.

Talk veers to rumours that Aishwarya has not been giving ample time to the promotion of her films.

"Not true at all! I've been virtually living out of suitcases, running from location to location all over the world, trying to get my four new films ready. Even then I've always made myself available for the promotion of all my films."

She admits being hard pressed for time during the release of "Mistress Of Spices", and therefore being unable to participate in the promos.

"I nevertheless agreed to a number of one-on-ones on the film. What could I do if the press persons were looking for more spice than I could give them about the film?" she laughed, dodging all questions on her personal life.

Right now, she's all set to promote Jag Mundhra's "Provoked" in a big way.

"Provoked" is the harrowing tale of Kiranjit Ahluwalia, a battered Punjabi housewife and mother of two who is beaten and raped by her alcoholic husband.

"It's a film and theme I completely believe in. I suggested we get the real Kiranjit Ahluwalia, whom I play, into the promotional loop for 'Provoked'.

"As for me not dubbing my lines in the Punjabi, Tamil, Telugu and Hindi versions, I speak Punjabi in the original English version of the film. So, the Punjabi version needs no dubbing from me. For the Tamil and Telugu versions I've asked them to get professional dubbing artistes who speak in these languages. How would I sound speaking in Tamil and Telugu? I don't think Hrithik (Roshan) dubbed for the South Indian versions of 'Krrish'."

Her last word on the bikini controversy in "Dhoom 2" -- "Thank god people have stopped talking about it. It was never me."

Rani - from poor cousin to Bollywood's biggest star

From bit roles in C grade movies to the polished performance in 'Black', birthday girl Rani Mukerji, who turns 29 Wednesday, can look back at the last 10 years with deep satisfaction.

When she joined the film force in 1996 with the box office dud 'Raja Ki Aayegi Baraat', she was literally written off by critics. Rani was plump, short, her voice was rough and nobody was willing to work with her.

Then cousin Kajol, a big star then, put in a word for her and Karan Johar hesitatingly cast her in his directorial debut 'Kuch Kuch Hota Hai'. There was no looking back after that. The poor cousin metamorphosed into a rising star, considered one of the most powerful women in Bollywood today.

'When Karan wanted my voice to be dubbed for 'Kuch Kuch Hota Hai', I really thought that it was bad and very husky and rough, but slowly I worked to improve my diction, and am now quite comfortable with it,' Rani was quoted as saying.

Karan didn't regret his decision. The film was a blockbuster and Rani got rave reviews. Not only was she honoured with the Filmfare award, offers started pouring in as well.

Since then, Rani has played a successful innings and has given hits like 'Black' (2005) 'Bunty Aur Babli' (2005), 'Paheli' (2005) 'Veer-Zaara' (2004), 'Hum Tum' (2004) 'Yuva' (2004) 'Chalte Chalte' (2003) 'Saathiya' (2002) 'Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham' (2001) and 'Ghulam' (1998).

She was also seen in an unconventional role in Kamal Hassan's 'Hey Ram', which made headlines because of her kissing scene. But she rebuffed all the controversies saying that the kiss with Kamal was mechanical. 'He was constantly checking the right angle. Where was the passion?'

She claims that Kamal re-invented the actress in her after the 'Hey Ram' experience.

Last year, Rani had two releases -- 'Kabhi Alvida Naa Khena' (KANK) and 'Baabul' - both damp squibs. However, that didn't really make a difference because her performance was appreciated and applauded.

With six Filmfare awards in her kitty, the actress has today surpassed her rivals and is touted as one of the most versatile and talented actress.

As she climbed up the success ladder, controversies followed her to the top. In November last year, she was shooting a film in Varanasi when fans crowded the set and security guards beat them up with sticks. There was a storm in the media and reports that said she should have stopped the security guards. Rani even apologised for her behaviour at the conference but it didn't seem enough.

'I was asked to say sorry for my behaviour at the press conference, which I did,' she said.

Another controversy was her tiff with KANK co-star Preity Zinta. Talk of their tiff travelled all the way to India from New York but Rani put a stop to it by making an appearance with Preity on the Holi special episode of STAR Plus' quiz show 'Kaun Bangea Crorepati', hosted by friend and colleague Shah Rukh Khan.

Rani is currently busy with Bhansali's 'Saawariya' and Siddharth Anand's 'TaRa Rum Pum', which is releasing on April 27. The story revolves around a racing driver and Rani is paired with Saif Ali Khan in the film.

She will also feature in Pradeep Sarkar's 'Laaga Chunari Mein Daag', hitting the marquee on Oct 12.

As far as her love life goes, she has been linked with her co-stars like Govinda, Abhishek Bachchan and right now the buzz is that she is dating the elusive Aditya Chopra.

Amrita on damage control spree

Bollywood actress Amrita Arora, who went scandalously and fashionably grey-to-black in Vikram Bhatt's 'Red', is candid enough to admit her career isn't going the way she would've liked to.

'I guess I made a few mistakes. That was bound to be when you're young and reckless. Now I'm learning to curb my impulses, to look at my career more maturely. With 'Red', I've made a fresh start,' she told IANS.

Amrita loves to be in Bollywood. 'I love the buzz and the bustle. I love putting on make-up every morning. I've never encountered sleaziness. Of course, it exists in every field. It depends entirely on how an individual projects himself or herself.'

And with the Khans hovering protectively around her who would dare to mess around with Amrita? She laughs.

'In fact, I've done a film with my sister's brother-in-law Sohail. It's Hansal Mehta's intense 'Raakh'. It's an underworld flick. Only my character survives till the end to tell the tale. Mehta has shot it beautifully. Sohail and I are like buddies, very comfortable together,' she said.

'But the big news is that I've signed with BMG-Crescendo for a movie called 'Deewana' opposite R. Madhavan. It's a murder mystery as well as a love story done in a very different way. We're going to start this film as soon as Madhavan finishes his current schedule of a film with Mani Ratnam.

'We'll shoot in Scotland and London for 40 days and finish this film. I'm looking forward to it. Maddy (Madhavan) is really sweet. Then there's Mahesh Manjrekar's 'Deha' where Dino (Morea) and Jaya Prada are unconventionally paired. I'm in the conventional romantic lead with Dino.'

Amrita has her fingers crossed.

'I've a full plate. I've to do a lot of damage control. I'm looking for that one elusive hit. I'm taking baby steps in the right direction.'

After hours?

'I spend all my free time with my beautiful little nephew Arhaan. He's the cutest guy in the world.'

Unlike Amrita, sister Malaika never took a career in films seriously.

'She never wanted a serious career in films. Her priority is marriage, husband and baby. She couldn't give those extended schedules that are required in movies. Doing a song in two days and returning home was more her scene.

'On the other hand, I have always been very career-oriented. My role models were Sridevi and Madhuri. Malaika was always into the beau monde... very 'propah' and chic. I'd read Filmfare, she read Vogue. Yup, we had chosen our paths from the start.'

Unlikely alliance against '.xxx' domain

ICANN plans to vote soon on whether to approve the Internet address

NEW YORK - Online pornographers and religious groups are in a rare alliance as a key Internet oversight agency nears a decision on creating a virtual red-light district through a ".xxx" Internet address.

The Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers, which has already rejected similar proposals twice since 2000, planned to vote as early as next week on whether to approve the domain name for voluntary use by porn sites.

The decision ultimately could hinge on whether ".xxx" has the support of the adult-entertainment industry — and many porn sites have been strongly opposed.

"One of the criteria is that it (must) have general support among the industry it's supposed to serve, and it does not," said Mark Kernes, a board member with the industry trade group Free Speech Coalition. "I have not met one single webmaster or adult video producer that is in favor of `.xxx,' and I've met a lot of them."

Porn sites are largely concerned that the domain name, while billed as voluntary, would make it easier for governments to later mandate its use and "essentially ghettoize sexual information on the Web," Kernes said.

ICM Registry Inc., the company behind the proposal, has vowed to fight any government efforts to compel its use and cited preregistrations of some 76,000 names as evidence of support. Kernes said many Web sites reserved names simply to prevent someone else from having it.

The Free Speech Coalition believes a domain name for kids-friendly sites would be more appropriate.

Given its voluntary nature, ".xxx" is unlikely to have much effect on parents' ability to block porn sites.

And because a domain name serves merely as an easy-to-remember moniker for a site's actual numeric Internet address, even if a government were to mandate its use, a child could simply punch in the numeric address of any blocked ".xxx" name.

Religious groups worry that ".xxx" would legitimize and expand the number of adults sites, which more than a third of U.S. Internet users visit each month, according to comScore Media Metrix. The Web site measurement firm said 4 percent of all Web traffic and 2 percent of all time spent Web surfing involved an adult site.

"They will keep their `.com' domains, and I have no doubt they will buy their `.xxx' as well," said Patrick Trueman, special counsel for the Alliance Defense Fund, a Christian public-interest law firm. "There will be twice as much pornography on the Internet."

Trueman and other critics say ICM will be the only beneficiaries.

The startup, founded and funded by four entrepreneurs with backgrounds in domain names and U.K. Internet companies, plans to charge $60 to register a name — 10 times the fees for ".com." Ten dollars of it would go to a companion nonprofit group that would set policies for ".xxx" use and recommend business practices for combating child pornography and promoting child safety.

ICANN tabled and effectively rejected a similar proposal in 2000 out of fear the ".xxx" domain would force the body into content regulation.

ICM resubmitted its proposal in 2004, this time structuring it with a policy-setting organization to free ICANN of that task. But many board members worried that the language of the proposed contract was vague and could kick the task back to ICANN. The board rejected the 2004 proposal last May.

ICANN revived the proposal in January after ICM agreed to hire independent organizations to monitor porn sites' compliance with the new rules, which would be developed by a separate body called the International Foundation for Online Responsibility.

ICM revised it again a month later to clarify ICANN's enforcement abilities and to underscore the independence of the policy-making body.

Despite the vocal opposition, ICM Chairman Stuart Lawley said he preferred a quick vote, adding that the complaints come from "the same people saying the same things time and time again."

"ICM has done more to demonstrate the existence of a strong community than any other application the (ICANN) board has approved," Lawley said. "We have been singled out for special treatment. From the word `go,' ... we were put in the slow lane."

If approved, ICM would be required to help develop mechanisms for promoting child safety and preventing child pornography, and porn sites using ".xxx" would have to participate in a self-rating system, labeling sites based on such criteria as the presence of nudity and whether it is in an artistic or educational context.

ICANN already has discussed the proposal during three, closed-door teleconference meetings this year. It indicated it would be ready to vote at a public meeting next Friday in Lisbon, Portugal.

But delays are possible if ICANN's Governmental Advisory Committee raises last-minute objections when it meets next week. Last March, the committee called for stronger language in ICANN's contract with ICM, and Lawley said those points have been addressed in the latest version of the contract.

ICM believes the domain would help the porn industry clean up its act, and Lawley said he has gone through great lengths to put its promises into writing.

"We are confident we have dotted every `i' and crossed every 't,'" he said, "and the contract deserves ratification."

Watson, Grint sign on for final 2 Potter movies

Hermione ‘is my hero,’ actress says, refuting reports she might leave series

LOS ANGELES - Countering widespread speculation, “Harry Potter” actress Emma Watson has decided to reprise her role as girl wizard Hermione Granger in the final films of the hit series, Warner Bros. said Friday.

Along with Watson, Rupert Grint will return as Harry’s friend, Ron Weasley, and as previously announced, Daniel Radcliffe signed up to return as boy wizard Harry in the sixth and seventh installments of the seven-part series.

“I could never let Hermione go — she is my hero!” Watson said in a statement from the Warner Bros. film studio. “I love her too much and love what playing her has meant to me.”

Recent news reports speculated the 16-year-old Watson may not return to the role she originated. Her absence would have been a blow to the millions of fans who love the adventure movies based on the best-selling books by British author J.K. Rowling.

The trio round out the main characters in the movie series that began in 2001 with “Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone,” a box-office sensation that raked in $976 million in global ticket sales.

Three other “Potter” movies have since been released, adding nearly $2.6 billion to the worldwide box office. In all, the four “Harry Potter” movies have grossed more than $3.5 billion.

The fifth film in the series, “Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix,” is scheduled for release July 13.

As the series has continued, speculation has mounted that the original three actors might be growing too old to play the teenage wizards. Radcliffe, 17, and Grint, 18, have already moved on to more adult stories on stage and screen.

Radcliffe is winning rave reviews in a London theater production of “Equus” in which he appears nude. Last year, Grint portrayed a young man who loses his virginity in coming-of-age movie “Driving Lessons.”

Amisha Patel's desi recipe

Not many people know that actress Amisha Patel is quite fond of Mumbai’s bhelpuri and sevpuri.

Although her sylphlike figure will have us believe otherwise, Amisha Patel actually is quite a foodie. And she doesn’t mind gorging on junk food also.

Amisha, who is presently shooting for Priyadarshan’s movie 'Bhool Bhulaiya' in Rajasthan, actually took along with her snacks, farsan, chutneys and bhelpuri ingredients from Mumbai for her 40-day long schedule for the film.

And every evening on the shooting sets, Amisha mixes some of these ingredients, adds some masala and imli chutney to make herself the mouth-watering bhel puri.

Even some unitmembers and co-stars have been tempted to ask Amisha for some bhel puri for themselves. Amisha happily obliges them. Paresh Rawal is said to have liked Amisha’s bhel puri a lot.

In fact, one day Amisha was in such a mood to gorge on junk food that she ordered burgers for the film’s crew from a nearby McDonalds.

We wonder how Amisha maintains that svelte figure.

And now...Munna-Circuit comic books

Director Raj Kumar Hirani and his co-writer Abhijat Joshi have decided not to restrict their two endearing creations - Munna and Circuit - to the large screen. They'll soon be seen as part of a comic book series.

Sanjay Dutt and Arshad Warsi tickled the funny bone of audiences as Munna and Circuit respectively in the hit movies 'Munnabhai M.B.B.S.' and 'Lage Raho Munna Bhai'.

"And why just comic books? We've a large number of offers to turn Munna and Circuit's adventures into animation films, cartoon strips, you name it," Hirani told IANS.

In fact, the blueprint for the comic strips has already been made.

"We've drawn some sketches for Munna and Circuit which would hopefully serve as illustrations in a series of adventures, and we like what we see. If things go well we'll soon be putting out Circuit-Munna comic books for public consumption," said Hirani.

The comic books and the proposed animation films will be marketed by Vidhu Vinod Chopra Productions, which had produced the two films as well.

Arshad is delighted by the idea. "Wow! To actually feature in comic books, like Superman or Spiderman! Imagine what my son Zeke will have to tell his friends in school. 'My father the superhero!'

"But seriously, I've worked very hard on making my character of Circuit as Munna's funny yet poignant right hand man. So, yes, I'd love to be part of the comic books."

Lilly likes metrosexual men

LOST star Evangeline Lilly is attracted to men who are in touch with their feminine side and are able to pick out clothes for her.

The 27-year-old has been dating co-star Dominic Monaghan for two years and needs a man who isn't afraid to show his feelings.

She explains, "I tend to like metrosexual men. I like men who have a little woman and a little man in there.

"I don't know if that's just because I'm a little man and a little woman. I don't mind getting my hands greasy fixing a car or tearing down a wall.

"So if he's willing to go shop for me and buy me new clothes...."

Lily claims she would even share her new wardrobe adding, "I don't mind a man in high heels!"

Washington acted like a gorilla as ape attacked

RAY star Kerry Washington had to use her acting skills to save her life when she came face to face with an angry gorilla in Uganda.

The actress went on a gorilla safari during a day off from shooting THE LAST KING OF SCOTLAND, in which she plays African tyrant IDI AMIN's wife KAY - but never imagined she'd get so close to a wild ape.

Washington took special lessons before her eight-hour trip into the jungle, so she'd be prepared if a gorilla attacked her - but when she actually came face to face with one of the beasts, she relied on her acting skills and became a gorilla herself.

She explains, "You're supposed to keep your distance but all of a sudden this female gorilla starts climbing down the tree and there wasn't anywhere for us to back up.

"She stopped and stared at me and it was like I was back in acting school. I became a gorilla. I was chewing leaves and scratching my armpit. I was so excited to have this opportunity to do the old acting class zoo exercise.

"She and I were totally into it for 10 minutes, hanging out and being gorillas."

Elizabeth Hurley weds at English castle

When someone as famous for her glamour as Elizabeth Hurley marries a very wealthy Indian businessman named Arun Nayar, you just know it's not going to be your average weekend wedding. The Associated Press reports that Elizabeth Hurley was marred today in a private civil ceremony at a 15th century castle in Gloucestershire, England. The small town was turned into a paparazzi and fan frenzy over the weekend, as Elizabeth Hurley descended on the area of Western England for her lavish wedding party.

On Friday, the Gloucestershire County Council confirmed that Arun Nayar and Elizabeth Hurley were to marry today at the Sudeley Castle in Winchcombe, which is 125 miles west of London. Later today, Elizabeth Hurley and her groom will hold a blessing and a party at the castle. The castle is owned by a friend of Elizabeth Hurley, Henry Dent-Brocklehurst, who is hosting the wedding, blessing, and party. There is apparently a huge marquee revealing that Sudely Castle is the site for the wedding right on the grounds itself.

Who makes it on the guest list for an Elizabeth Hurley wedding? The AP reports that Elton John, Kate Moss, Donatella Versace, and even Hurley's ex, Hugh Grant, were in attendance. The news service notes that security guards were patrolling the castle grounds today and that a large tent has been erected on the castle grounds in the Cotswold Hills of western England. A covered walkway led guests from the tent in the gardens to the building for the party.

Will we soon see pictures of the Elizabeth Hurley affair? Hello! magazine scored an exclusive access to the event and will likely publish images soon. The couple will soon fly to India for more wedding celebrations in Mumbai and Rajasthan next week.

The AP spoke to Colin Pilcher, a local butcher, who spoke about the chaos surrounding the nuptials of Elizabeth Hurley - "Obviously, people are out celebrity spotting -- I don't think they'll see any but they are out at the thought -- and it's just a lot of excitement for the small town of Winchcombe."

Details are scarce about the ceremony and party, as Elizabeth Hurley has tried to keep it very private, but Sky News did speak to a local Reverend, John Partington, who told them that he would be leading a celebration of the couple's marriage today. "It is the busiest of times, but I'm only as excited as I would be for anyone's wedding."

Elizabeth Hurley is most well-known for her long partnership with Hugh Grant, her performances in Austin Powers and Bedazzled, and her work as the face of Estee Lauder for years. The 42 year-old model and actress hasn't performed as much as she used to, but she is in pre-production on The Last Guy on Earth with Talia Shire, Whoopi Goldberg, Brooke Shields, and Joan Cusack.

Celebrities give their blessing to Hurley/Nayar nuptials

LATEST: A string of celebrities descended on the tiny Gloucestershire, England, village of Winchcombe to celebrate Elizabeth Hurley's wedding to ARUN NAYAR yesterday (03MAR07).

The couple were secretly married at Sudeley castle on Friday (02MAR07), with just a few family members and close friends for witnesses, but guests including SIR ELTON JOHN, DONATELLA VERSACE and supermodel Elle MacPherson were present on Saturday for a blessing and lavish marquee reception.

Singer John made the biggest entrance, arriving by helicopter at the castle.

However, Hurley's ex Hugh Grant was markedly absent in spite of reports he'd show up following his recent split from JEMIMA KHAN.

In all, around ninety guests crowded into St Mary's Church, on the grounds of the sprawling estate, while the rest observed the romantic service via a big screen in the nearby marquee.

After the ceremony guests were treated to a four-course meal and bottles of vintage champagne.

Hurley and Nayar will continue their celebrations in India later this week (09MAR07) with a traditional Hindu ceremony followed by a ten-day honeymoon in the Seychelles.

Miller: 'Drugs are fun'

Actress Sienna Miller has sparked controversy yet again by revealing she takes drugs because "they're fun".

Last year (06) the outspoken 25-year-old upset Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania residents after drunkenly calling their city "S**tsburgh" during an interview - but her candid drugs comments look likely to cause an even bigger furore around the globe.

Miller, who plays EDIE SEDGWICK in her latest movie FACTORY GIRL, confessed she took morphine to research the role of the New York socialite who died of an overdose, and understands why ANDY WARHOL's muse was drawn to illegal substances.

She says, "They're f**kloads of fun.

"If I had a drug of choice it would be magic mushrooms."

Anna Nicole Smith buried but far from gone

Anna Nicole Smith may have finally been buried on Friday afternoon, over three weeks after the TrimSpa model and Playboy Playmate died at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Hollywood, Florida, but not only is her story far from over with paternity battles yet to be determined, but the resting place of the larger-than-life figure has become the number one tourist hotspot in the Bahamas.

The New York Daily News spoke to a cab driver who tells them that the tourists who get off cruise ships in the Bahamas don't want the local flavor as much as they want to see the grave of Anna Nicole Smith - "Everybody wants to see this. People are getting off the cruise ships, and this is where they want to come. The tourism board...can't buy the kind of exposure they had here the last few weeks."

TMZ reports that it's not just cruise ship riders with good timing, but that some people have already booked tours to the Bahamas just to visit the grave of Anna Nicole Smith. They note that on Saturday, Larry Birkhead - the former lover of Anna Nicole and the alleged father of Dannielynn, her five month-old daughter - was at the Bahamas airport waiting for a ride back home and even posed for a few pictures with tourists.

Playfuls had a few of the details on the lavish, fit for a queen funeral of Anna Nicole Smith. They report that around 100 guests attended the ceremony on Friday in the Bahamas and that Anna Nicole Smith was laid to rest in a closed mahogany coffin. Of course, just as in the life, an ordinary coffin wouldn't do for Anna Nicole Smith and the box was covered in a pink shroud of feathers and ribbons and studded with rhinestones spelling out her name. In the box, Anna Nicole Smith wore a pink couture gown that had been specifically designed for her by a friend. The gown of the reality TV star featured an emblazoned heart and she wore a tiara. The site even reports that Anna Nicole Smith clutched an urn with the ashes of J. Howard Marshall III inside. The billionaire and the beauty married in 1994 when he was 89 and she was 26 and, after his death, Anna Nicole Smith has fought to get part of his extensive fortune.

At 6am on Friday, a motorcade took the body of Anna Nicole Smith from the Broward County Medical Examiner's Office to Miami International Airport, where Anna Nicole was whisked to the Bahamas. The service took place that afternoon at the Mount Horeb Baptist Church with only a select few in attendance. Of course, for a woman who lived her life in front of the camera, that select few included cameras from Entertainment Tonight, who reportedly paid 4 million dollars for exclusive press coverage of the funeral of Anna Nicole Smith.

After the service, Anna Nicole Smith was laid to rest next to her son Daniel Smith, who died last September just days after his mother gave birth to his sister Dannielynn, at the Lakeview Memorial Gardens. A small flock of doves was released and Ruby Ann Darling, a spiritual advisor for Anna Nicole Smith, said that the three primary figures in the legal battle over the body of Anna Nicole - Larry Birkhead, Virgie Arthur, and Howard K. Stern - all put roses on Smith's coffin.

In an interesting note, Larry Birkhead, Virgie Arthur, and Howard K. Stern all got to see how they're performing in the court of public opinion. Arthur, Anna Nicole Smith's estranged mother, was trying to take her daughter back to the family plot in Texas and she delayed the burial at least a week with appeals. Mommy was booed by onlookers for the funeral. According to Playfuls, Howard K. Stern was received neutrally and Larry Birkhead actually received some ovations. He seems to be the most popular figure in the Anna Nicole Smith saga.

All three of the players gave eulogies and, while it's unclear exactly what was said, Howard K. Stern actually used the emotional moment in front of his alleged lover's grave to speak about the legal issues (it's unclear if that means the legal issues that are over in Florida or the ones around the paternity cases pending in California). Birkhead told the AP, "We were all given equal amount of time and that's how he chose to spend his time. I wouldn't have used my time that way. ...It doesn't make anything better."

Kelis arrested for disorderly conduct

It's tough to be a female R&B star this year. Following the arrest a few weeks ago of Foxy Brown, Kelis Rogers-Jones has been picked up for disorderly conduct and resisting arrest in South Beach, Florida. AllHipHop.com reports that Kelis, the 27 year-old from Harlem, was yelling profanities and charging at local police who were trying to take part in an investigation and prostitution sting.

The site reports that Kelis received several warnings from police, but she didn't stop and was arrested and taken to Dade County Jail for processing. Monster and Critics reports that she was released a few hours later on $1,500 bond. That site reports that Kelis was yelling at two female officers who were undercover as prostitutes and that she screamed racial profanities before rushing them.

Kelis was on the main avenue of the South Beach nightclub district on Thursday night when the situation happened. M&C even reports that a member of Kelis' entourage had to hold the singer back from attacking the officers. The Associated Press reports that the incident took place in the 1400 block of Collins Avenue and that the Miami Beach Police Department did not immediately return calls. The cops went out trying to bust prostitutes and johns and ended up arresting the woman who sang "my milkshake brings all the boys to the yard."

Kelis is married to rap star Nas (real name Nasir Jones) and is currently the spokesperson for the 2007 Ford Edge. Kelis recorded the theme song for the car - "Push It To The Edge - and is sen in the commercials. She has also been working on her own jewelry line called Cake and has worked with Ashanti to design shoes for a new line called KeShany Heels. Kelis Was Here, was the fourth and last album from Kelis and came out in August of last year to mixed reviews (but a pretty catchy single called "Bossy") and a top position of number ten on the Billboard 200. Kelis is probably most well-known for "Milkshake" from 2003.

MTV reports that Kelis is also working her own cookbook to be released this year, to go along with all of her other fashion ventures. She told the network - "Fashion is a big part of my life, so I'm sticking by that, really. I got a million and one ideas. And I'm always approached by designers and people about stuff. I actually designed items for my first video and my second ['Bossy' and 'Blindfold Me']. So it just made sense. It's actually really second nature to me. It hasn't been a far stretch. I have the ideas, and then [the process] is just like with the music industry. You have to have the vision, and then you have to have someone willing to release your vision."

What can fans expect from a Kelis cookbook? Once again, from MTV, "I have to say, actually, I'm good. 'Cause I don't really have a special dish. I can pretty much make anything. Even if I go to a restaurant and taste something, I'll go, 'Oh, I can make this,' and I'll just throw my own stuff into it. I don't really do stuff that I'm not good at. So I wouldn't say, 'Hey, let me do your taxes,' and then you'll be angry with me. But if I say, 'Let me make you something to eat,' then that I can definitely do."

Yash Raj promises movie entertainment galore ...

Mumbai, March 2 (IANS) Yash Raj Films could easily be renamed as the Yash Raj Factory. Bollywood's most popular production house, known for its glamorous larger-than-life love stories, is planning to release five new films in 2007.

The films will, naturally, have some of the biggest stars in the industry including Shah Rukh Khan, Rani Mukerji, Abhishek Bachchan and Saif Ali Khan and stage the comeback of the charismatic superstar Madhuri Dixit.

"We are very excited about our releases for 2007, not just because of the star casts, but because each film deals with a unique subject and has very promising young directors at the helm," said Yash Chopra, chairman, Yash Raj Films (YRF).

The first release from the Yash Raj stable this year will be Siddharth Anand's second directorial venture "Ta Ra Rum Pum" on April 27. The story revolves around a racing driver and has Saif and Rani in the lead.

Anand carved a niche for himself with his debut film "Salaam Namaste" starring Saif and Preity Zinta. So get ready to enjoy another roller coaster ride of entertainment and emotions.

"Ta Ra Rum Pum" will be followed by Shaad Ali's "Jhoom Barabar Jhoom". Scheduled for a June 15 release, Ali's third directorial venture has a stellar cast of Abhishek Bachchan, Preity, Bobby Deol, Lara Dutta, and Amitabh Bachchan in a special appearance. "Jhoom Barabar..." hopes to repeat the success story of "Bunty Aur Babli".

YRF's third release "Chak De India" will showcase the talent of yet another young director, Shimit Amin, and stars Shah Rukh Khan in a pivotal role. It is slated to hit the screens on Aug 10. So SRK fans can have a treat this Independence Day.

The Chopras, who are known for releasing special films during the festival season, will not let their audiences down this year either. So you will get to see Pradeep Sarkar's "Laaga Chunari Mein Daag" from Oct 12, a near Dussehra release.

Sarkar has demonstrated great sensitivity in his first film "Parineeta" and people have great expectations from "Laaga...." With a cast of Jaya Bachchan, Rani, Konkona Sen Sharma, Kunal Kapoor and Abhishek, the film is expected to satisfy the connoisseurs and the masses alike.

Nov 30 will see the release of the last Yash Raj film for 2007. "Aaja Nachle" will be a directorial debut for noted cinematographer Anil Mehta. What's more important, it will be Madhuri Dixit's comeback film. Try and imagine Madhuri gyrating under Mehta's skilful eye and you can be sure that the Chopras will end the year with a bang.

They plan to kick off 2008 in grand style with "Tashan". Directed by Vijay Krishna Acharya, the screenplay and dialogue writer of mega hits "Dhoom" and "Dhoom:2", it will star the much-loved men of action, Akshay Kumar and Saif. Anil Kapoor and Kareena Kapoor also star in the film.

This year will be memorable for YRF for another reason too. In 2007, the banner plans to move completely to the studio style of functioning -- on a par with Fox, Warner Bros and Universal.

This year's Filmfare award function was organised at the Yash Raj Studios, on the outskirts of Mumbai, last month marking a new chapter in the Indian film industry. The studio is well-equipped for every bit of pre-production, production and post-production work in-house.

Jackson Charging $3,500 for 30 Seconds

TOKYO -- A relaxed-looking Michael Jackson smiled and waved at screaming fans as he arrived in Japan on Sunday for his second visit in recent years to host an exclusive party and sponsor a fan art competition.

Jackson made his first official foray back into the spotlight after his acquittal on child molestation charges in June 2005 with an appearance in Tokyo to accept an MTV Japan award last year.

Jackson, in trademark sun glasses and black leather jacket, was ushered by guards past hundreds of screaming Japanese fans at Narita Airport on Sunday afternoon, some carrying signs that read "We love Michael" and "Welcome to Japan."

At the VIP party, guests paying $3,500 will get to mingle with Jackson and spend 30 seconds to one minute each of exclusive face time with the Gloved One, according to organizers. It was unclear whether the star will perform any songs.

While in Tokyo, the star will also host a fan art contest for Japanese who cannot afford VIP tickets, organizers Davis, Bain and Associates said in an e-mail.

Three winning artists chosen by Jackson will have brunch with the star and their picture taken together.

Jackson, 48, one of the best-selling artists of all time, has lived abroad since his acquittal, forsaking his Neverland Ranch in California for residences in Bahrain, France, and a castle in Ireland.

He told The Associated Press in January he was back in the United States, where he was widely reported to be pursuing business deals in Las Vegas. "I love Japan," he said at the time. "It is one of my favorite places in the entire world."

Jackson's VIP meet-and-greet party was scheduled for Thursday, with the fan art contest on Friday. Promoters refused to comment on how much he would be paid.

Reema Sen Feels Young In Thirties!

The charm of the most of the heroines is short lived. They fade away with half a dozen films. Reema Sen is an exceptional case. She has been an active heroine for more than a decade. She doesn't confine herself to only one State or one language. She does the films simultaneously in three languages, say, Telugu, Tamil and Oriya. She keeps up her figure in tact. She is now 33. She, however, is not in need of a hubby. She puts off her marriage for a few more years. She wants to think of marriage only after she exhausts all the chances as heroine.

Sindu Tulani Calls Her 'Savior' When In Danger!

Sindu Tulani, a pretty heroine, has her savior of all times. If she smells something foul, he rings him up. The savior appears in the next moment. He is Thammareddy Bharadwaja. Sindu won his favor, while she was doing the heroine role in his film 'Pothe Poni', two years ago.

Her bond with him is still intact. Though this has been a guarded secret all these years, an untoward incident made it known to every one in the industry. A small time artiste teased her, when the shooting of her latest film, 'Nee Navve Chalu', was on. She couldn't swallow her tears and rang up to Bharadwaja. He appeared in a moment and warned the teaser to the astonishment of every one on sets. Some bonds last long!

Mani Ratnam: Why should we care for the Oscars?

KOLKATA(IANS): Acclaimed filmmaker Mani Ratnam doesn't care much about winning an Oscar as recognition of the Indian film industry.

"Why should we care about the Oscars, when they don't care about us? We have our own film culture, which is very rich," Ratnam said.

Ratnam was visiting Cinema Paradiso, the city's happening video library that boasts of a huge collection of world classics as well as contemporary films.

This was his first visit to Kolkata after the release of 'Guru'. And he got a rapturous welcome from the city where his film 'Yuva' was based.

Talking about 'Guru', he said, "Rumours are flying thick that the film is based on the life of an eminent Indian businessman. It's all useless talk. 'Guru' can be anyone's story."

'Guru' tells the story of an ambitious young villager who moves to Turkey and then to Mumbai to become one of the richest businessmen in the country, making many compromises on his way to success.

On his next venture, the Tamil filmmaker said, "I am working on the script of a film titled 'Lajo'. Kareena Kapoor will be playing the lead role in the film."

Referring to the changing scenario of Indian cinema, Ratnam noted, "The earlier difference between art films and commercial cinema has almost vanished. Now it's a mix of both."

While agreeing that a filmmaker has a social role to play, he added with great candour that a filmmaker was not a preacher.

"Indian filmmakers can move from entertainment to more socially relevant issues only after the economic condition of the masses improves. Only then will they be in a mood to see socially relevant cinema."

Paris Hilton’s Anti-Gay Slurs create a furore

Hotel heiress Paris Hilton has sparked a controversy again, and this time she has created a furore for her alleged anti- gay terms and racist slur.

The home video on ParisExposed.com showed Paris and her sister Nicky using the word ‘faggot’ repeatedly at someone, and stating that they were ‘like two n - - - - - s’.

Gay rights leaders have criticised the Simple star for uttering such words, asking her to take responsibility for them. They’ve disapproved of Paris saying them on camera, as they feel she has created a permanent record by doing so.

"When Paris Hilton utters these words into a camera, it creates a permanent record that…she must bear responsibility for,“ Contactmusic quoted the Gay and Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation (GLAAD) president Neil Giuliano, as saying.

"These are not frivolous words and to use them as if they are, gives tacit sanction to the racism and homophobia they engender,“ he added.

The president also asked Paris to go on record and publicly apologise to all those affronted by her comments.

"Go on the record, explain herself, and publicly apologize to the LGBT and African American communities and all those offended by these slurs,“ he added.

The date of the clip is unknown. While some say it was shot in a recent party, others believe it was taped almost six years ago.

Britney Spears is into threesomes and girls

Britney Spears has been spotted out and about with several men after her split from hubby Kevin Federline, but it seems that the gender she’s really interested in on a physical level, is her own.

Federline or K-Fed’s rap music producer pal Omar `Iceman' Sharif, has opened up about Spears' wild secret life, and claimed that the singer has a penchant for same sex parties, and lovers.

Sharif revealed to In Touch magazine that even while Britney and Federline were together, the ‘Toxic’ singer was interested in women.

"Britney was into threesomes and girls," Femalefirst quoted him, as telling the mag.

A source also told the mag that Federline is now planning to use Britney’s lesbian sexcapades against her in the couple’s custody battle over their two sons – Sean Preston and Jayden James – if things turn ugly.

"He wants to show that she's not such an angel after all," the source said.

This is not the first time that Britney will have to field questions over her sexuality, for a few years back bisexual porn queen Jenna Jameson revealed that she and Spears had a “special connection”.

Spears, who was dating model Isaac Cohen after her split from K-Fed, was recently seen partying with yet another man.

Britney’s having marathon sex sessions

Britney Spears’ most recent ex beau, model Isaac Cohen has revealed that the singer is close to breaking point, and that the only time she is not in torment, is when she is indulging in marathon sex sessions.

Cohen, who started dating Britney soon after she split from hubby Kevin Federline following a two-year marriage, revealed that the singer was still ‘not over’ the split when he met her.

"It was clear she was not over her marriage. The first time she invited me to her home I saw her wedding dress hung on the wall in a glass box. As we made love that night it was like Kevin was in bed beside us. She had not even begun to move on with her life," the News of the World quoted him, as saying.

The model also revealed that Spears was most at peace when she was having sex, but once that was over, she would become the ‘little girl lost’.

"She loves sex and is incredibly adventurous. She was totally happy when we were locked in each other's arms. But once the sex stopped Britney was like a little girl lost, unable to cope.

"She would lie like a limp rag doll in my arms and and say, ‘Why can't everyone leave me alone?' and, ‘What have I done to deserve this?'" Cohen revealed.

According to Cohen, the mum-of-two is also constantly racked with insecurities where her figure is concerned.

"Like any woman who has had two children she worried about her figure. As far as I was concerned she was gorgeous, but she had such low self esteem she sometimes would not listen.

"She would say, ‘Am I fat? Am I fat?' then spend hours dancing around the house trying to burn off calories. She was always jumping around," he said.

And, Britney’s fragile emotional side also came to the fore when she was often so depressed that she would not bother about the way she looked.

"Other times, she got so low she didn't care what she looked like. She could not care less some days if she went out of the house without brushing her hair or checking to see if her outfit matched.

"That's just where she was in her life. She had so much on her plate with the children she had precious little time to worry about how she looked," he said.

And though the singer has been slammed as being an unfit mother, Cohen insists that there is no two people Britney loves more in the world than her sons – Sean Preston and Jayden James.

"Her boys mean everything to her and she worried she might lose them in a custody battle," he said.

Cohen and Spears split earlier this year following a six-week relationship.

Aniston & Cox Lesbian Lip-Lock not Dirty

Courtney Cox is warning people that they are going to be ‘disappointed’ if they expect the kiss she and former ‘Friends’ co-star Jennifer Aniston are going to share to be steamy.

Aniston is getting set to guest-star in Cox’s FX show “Dirt” as her archenemy Tina Harrod who also happens to be a rival tabloid editor, as well as a lesbian in the show’s season finale.

Cox warned viewers that they would be left disappointed if they were tuning in simply to see the two women in a ‘major make-out session’, in the the episode that is scheduled to air in the US on March 27.

"I am not saying don't tune in to watch Jennifer on the show, because she is fantastic and you get to see us together again but if you think it is just about a major make-out session, you will be disappointed," People magazine quoted her, as saying.

"There is no tongue," Cox added.

Aniston earlier revealed that she and Cox were so sure that the media would play up the kiss that they made a bet about how soon the story would hit the tabloids.

The ‘Along Came Polly’ star also insisted she had won the bet, for it barely took a week for the kiss to become front page news in the tabloids.

"I think I won a bet. I told Courteney, 'How many days will it take to come out? 'Lesbian kiss! Lip-lock!' It was a record: about a week. It was touted as a passionate lip-lock. It's a good-bye kiss!" she said.

Aniston also added that she can’t understand the interest the kiss has generated, for she never thought that people would be interested in seeing the two former ‘Friends’ star lock lips.

"I don't honestly think people want to see Rachel and Monica have at it!" the 38-year old added.

Gosling corrupted Britney with Sex Tips

Oscar nominee Ryan Gosling feels that he is to blame for Britney Spears’ reputation of being a sex kitten, because he ‘corrupted’ them with information about sex when they were kids.

Gosling revealed that he had given the two stars, as well as other kids, tips on sex when they were part of the Mickey Mouse Club.

"They (Mickey Mouse Club co-stars) would come and ask me questions about sex and I just told them what I heard... positions and stuff," Contactmusic quoted him, as saying.

The actor admitted that the moms of the young stars had been furious with him when they found out, and had even complained to Disney about his behaviour.

"All the mothers went to Disney (show executives) and told them I was corrupting their kids," he said.

The actor revealed that he now feels that the mothers were right, and that he feels partly responsible for Britney’s racy music videos, as well as private life.

"I feel somewhat responsible for how sexual (Britney) is now. When I see her with a snake around her neck, I think, `Did I do that?'" he said.

The salon owner in whose shop Britney Spears went bald revealed that the first thing that the singer said when she saw her new look, was that her mother was sure to “freak”.

Tognozzi also insisted that she had tried to talk Spears out of getting rid of her hair, but the singer had not listened to her.

When the salon owner refused to touch Britney’s locks, the singer picked up a scissor and hacked away her hair, and then used an electric shaver to rip out the rest.

People magazine reported that though Spears wasn't charged for her shave, Tognozzi is already planning to charge other customers who want the ‘Brit-Buzz’ as much as 200 dollars.

Monica Bellucci and Cassel reveal Porn offer

Actress Monica Bellucci and actor hubby Vincent Cassel were approached by director Gaspar Noe to star in a porn flick together.

Cassel has revealed that, after watching porn films together that showed staged sex scenes, they decided to reject the raunchy offer because it wasn’t appropriate, for they thought that it would end up looking like a stunt.

“When we sat down and watched (porn) movies together and saw the sex scenes we thought it wasn't right. People would think it was a stunt,” Contactmusic quoted him, as saying.

Cassel added that after dropping the idea, they co-starred together in Noe’s ‘Irreversible’.

“So at the last minute we pulled out of that and ended up doing Irreversible with Gaspar instead,” he added.

The ‘Ocean’s Twelve’ actor also said that they have another offer in hand that will bring them again on the big screen together.

Rebecca lets loose with boyfriend on airplane!

David Beckham’s ex PA Rebecca Loos, who hit headlines with her alleged affair with the soccer ace, has now landed herself in trouble for descending on her lover Matthew Ridge in full view of shocked airline passengers.

Fellow flyers flew off the handle when they saw the celebrity taking on her rugby star on a transatlantic flight.

Rebecca and former All Blacks ace Ridge had to be stopped in mid-flight by the crew after other passengers complained about their behaviour.

“It was pretty obvious what was going on. With all the noise in the cabin I couldn't hear much but it certainly looked like he was groaning," a fellow passenger was quoted by the Newsoftehworld, as saying.

The pair travelled business class on Air New Zealand's flight NZ1 from London to Los Angeles .

"As soon as Rebecca's wine glass was full, she headed over to see Matthew. She climbed into the bed and lay on top of him. I tried to ignore it and go to sleep but I could hear her giggling. They started snogging and then she disappeared under the blanket. She later came up for a kiss but then they were at it again. But this time the blanket fell onto the floor. I was shocked — it was then the steward told them to knock it off," she added.

Loos hooked up with Matthew last October when they appeared together on a TV show Down Under. He later dumped his girlfriend Keita Nobilo to bed David Beckham's ex-lover.

An Air New Zealand spokesperson confirmed: "There were complaints in the premium cabin on NZ1 that required a couple of passengers to modify their behaviour."

However Matthew's agent, Mick Watson said, "They're a couple, they were on a plane and something obviously happened. Matthew apologised to the crew and Rebecca went back to her bed. What's the big deal?"

Playboy boss Hefner is set to marry Madison

He may be in his eighties, but wedding bells will reportedly soon be ringing for Playboy boss Hugh Hefner.

The octogenarian is said to be planning a wedding to one of his Playmates Holly Madison, who has been his chief girlfriend for some time now.

A source revealed that Hefner had made up his mind, though he was keeping it a secret for the time being as monogamy will kill his reality TV show ‘The Girls Next Door’.

The insider added that Hefner was also eager to wed Madison, for he believes that it would generate great interest in his show.

"This is very secret, but the word is 'yes,'. Hef has decided he will marry Holly, and he wants it for his show, 'The Girls Next Door.' Hef thinks business all the time, and looks for a new hook, although he also does really love Holly," the New York Post quoted the source, as saying.

And though Hefner enjoys the attention of two other beauties on the show, he’s chosen Madison as she happens to be the most dedicated.

"But Hef sees that she is the most dedicated," said the source.

"Kendra is never there, and they both hate each other, and Bridget is hanging on by being very friendly to Holly," the insider revealed.

Hefner has been married twice before.

Jessica Simpson is fond of her bosoms

Singer Jessica Simpson is so fond of her big knockers that she considers them more as a good 'accessory' than a liability.

"They are like a good necklace,” the voluptuous star told Hot Stars magazine.

Even though Simpson loves her breasts, she doesn’t care much that they’ve become smaller, for too many men used to stare at them due to their unusual size.

Meanwhile the pop star has slammed her colleagues who indulged in panty less partying, and said that she is too careful while she is in short skirts.

Darling remakes ready before the original

This will probably be the first time that the remake versions of a film are completed even before the original film is shot.

While Ram Gopal Varma’s Darling is yet to be completed, the remake versions of the film are already shot. The film is remade in Tamil and Telugu languages and both the versions of the film are directed by Ram Gopal Varma’s assistant director Kona Venkat.

Shilpa's tormentor Goody visits New Delhi slums

Bollywood actress Shilpa Shetty's tormentor in the UK's Celebrity Big Brother show Jade Goody today toured different slums here today and spent some time with their dwellers.

Goody, accused of making alleged racial remarks against Shilpa during the reality show arrived here on Monday.

At the slum, she sat closeted inside a tiny room, finally emerging to an unmanageable crowd of onlookers and media persons.

Many slum dwellers, visibly amused at the commotion in their cluster, had a word of advise for the "foreign madam".

"We only asked her why she didn't like our Indian actress Shilpa Shetty when she visited London. But we also told her that we have really liked the fact that she has come to visit us. She only kept on saying, "Thank you", said Krishna, whose one-room shanty was more than two hundred meters away.

During the show, Goody had told Shilpa "to go back to slums" that had created a furore both in India and the UK.

However, Shilpa emerged victorious from the Celebrity Big Brother house last month after a series of rows with other contestants which sparked an international race row when they were accused of racially bullying her.

The Bollywood star was called a "dog" on the programme and was referred to as "the Indian" and "Poppadom".

Amid the controversy, the Indian tourist board put full-page advertisements in newspapers inviting Goody to visit India.

Shilpa, who has denied her fellow contestants were racist, has since seen her public profile in Britain rise and has appeared on several TV appearances and held high profile meetings.

Ash still dreams of Hollywood

Bollywood queen Aishwarya Rai continues to get offers from Hollywood despite getting engaged to Abhishek Bachchan, says her international manager Simone Sheffield.

Rubbishing reports that the engagement had spiked Aishwarya's Hollywood prospects, Sheffield told www.hollywood.tv: "Everyone is thrilled with her engagement and we have received thousands of email and cards from her well-wishers."

Aishwarya is one of the few Indian actresses known in Hollywood, particularly after her "Bride and Prejudice". Her "Last Legion" is releasing in Britain, Germany, Italy and Spain in April.

She also got an offer to act in "Provoked", which got rave reviews at film festivals worldwide. "Provoked" is also slated for an April release in the US, Britain and India during the Easter weekend, Sheffield said.

Asked if Aishwarya has any future in Hollywood, Sheffield said: "Yes, by all means. But it is totally up to her what films she chooses to accept.

"She got many offers but she did not accept the roles due to the subject matter, script or schedule. It will take an extra special film to get her back here working in Hollywood in the future."

She also said that Aishwarya was being considered for the roles for not only her looks but acting skills as well.

"Her acting abilities are subtle, quiet yet strong and her beauty just screams in your face. But take note, she has done quite a few films that downplay her beauty. To Aishwarya, beauty is temporary but real beauty is within and eternal."

She admits that her films have not done extraordinarily well but that critics have been supportive of her.

"Her films did just okay but she received the most encouraging reviews. The critics have been good to her (in Hollywood) and looking forward to her future Hollywood releases. When she makes a live appearance, top photographers make it a point to be present there."

No stay on Bollywood film on Anara Gupta

A lower court here today pulled up Jammu and Kashmir police for failure to speed up probe into the sensational Anara Gupta porno-CD case and rejected its application for stay on release of a forthcoming film on the former beauty queen's life.

Chief Judicial Magistrate Sanjay Dhar, after hearing Advocate M A Bhat appearing for the special investigation team, rejected the police's application for stay of the film on Anara saying the probe in the matter has already been delayed and it needs to be speeded up.

The court observed that merely because one of the suspects in the case is making a film on her life with the assistance of respondent K K Yadav and Ashok Pandit does not mean that whatever story about the life of Anara Gupta has been portrayed in the film is gospel truth.

The investigating agency is not bound to accept the correctness of the version about the life of Anara Gupta given in the film, Dhar observed.

The investigating agency has to go by the facts and material collected during investigation of the case. Even if Anara Gupta is portrayed as an innocent person and an angel in the film, this is not going affect proceedings before the investigating agency and the court because it is only a fiction and not truth, the court said.

If during investigation of the case, the investigating agency finds material showing her complicity in the case, the film will have no effect on the result of the investigation, Dhar said.

Ayesha bags Vishal's film on HIV/Aids

Omkara director Vishal Bhardwaj is all set to direct his next film, a short, 13-minute feature on HIV/Aids and will be featureing Ayesha Takia and South actor Siddharth (Karan of Rang De Basanti) in a jugalbandi of medicine and human emotions.

Says Ayesha, “It’s a pleasure to work with someone like Vishal Bhardwaj, and on such a relevant subject. I honestly feel actors need to stretch themselves beyond entertainment after a point. I’d like to believe that Vishal’s film will be a learning experience for me, and it would also make audiences think. Vishal’s film says HIV isn’t necessarily the end of life.”

Ayesha has already worked with Vishal in his capacity as producer of Anurag Kashyap’s No Smoking. “Working with Vishal as a director is different and will be a fantastic experience.

I’ve seen what he can do with his actors. Maqbool and Omkara are brilliant films,” she says.

I think he was fabulous in Rang De Basanti. Dor has worked a similar magic for my career. It has opened up so many doors for me. I don’t think I’d have landed Vishal’s film if it wasn’t for Dor.”

Sunidhi upset with Kareena?

It was a big moment in Sunidhi Chauhan's life when she got to sing Asha Bhosle's boogie-classic Yeh mera dil from Don.

"My version of Yeh mera dil can't hold a candle to Ashaji's original…nothing to pretend about there. If you look at the original song, situation, dancing everything was kamal ka. No one can replicate the original Yeh mera dil.

We weren't even trying. We did the song in a completely different way, and I failed. I sang the song according to the requirement of the scene. I wanted to infuse a certain brightness into this low-key number, but I couldn't."

Sunidhi wanted to re-do the song. "I didn't make that request though I wanted to. See, we never set out to be one-up on Don. In fact the old version is to this day fresh and contemporay. I was so thrilled when I got to record a song that I had sung on stage since my childhood.

To do one of Ashaji's best tracks was a great challenge. I decided I'd give my shot to Yeh mera dil. But I was bound by the character and situation. Which is fine because there's a special challenge in singing within character.

When I sang Yeh mera dil I found it lacking in brightness. That's okay. Eminent scientists make mistakes. Who am I? Frankly I'm neither happy not disappointed. But I'm all for Farhan Akhtar's vision. Let me add, I didn't sing Yeh mera dil with Ashaji in mind." Sunidhi who has sung one of her best song Bhaage re man in Chameli for Kareena is slightly disappointed by Kareena's emoting to Yeh mera dil. "I'm no one to comment on this. Kareena knows how to carry herself. She's exceptionally beautiful and expressive, she can play anything from a goddess to a vamp.

I just wish she had worn a black or red gown instead of a golden one for the song. Helenji gobbled everyone up with her eyes. Kareena could've done the same…And I wish Shah Rukh had gelled his hair and made a ponytail. He'd have looked like a full-on Don. I've been on world tours with Shah Rukh. Trust me, he'd have looked stunning."

Why is Sunidhi singing less songs these days, and why not more love ballads? "Not at all! I'm singing 2-3 songs every day. There was a trend of chartbusters from me. Then a lull in release, not in my singing. Now let me tell you I've sung a love balld for Ismail Durbar's in an English-language film called Interminable. It's a semi-classical song.

I can't believe Ismailji has tapped that quality in my voice. Then I've sung for a non-film album with Ustad Sultan Khan called Ustad & The Divas with songs composed by Sandesh Shandilya.

I wish some of my ballads were as successful as the brisk numbers. They clicked in an earlier era. And singers then were fortunate to belong to that era. But I'm lucky to be getting and being accepted in both kinds of songs."

Why is she so low-profile? "You'll never catch me at parties and music launches. My presence makes no difference to these. I won't go where my presence isn't respected. I'd any time go to a Vishal-Shekhar music launch.

But others treat me like just a vocal tool. Why should I be where I'm so indispensable? As long as people are happy with my work I don't need to be visible."

Younger girl-older man relationships quite common

Jiah Khan, the teenager who is making her debut in Bollywood film 'Nishabd' opposite Amitabh Bachchan, feels 'younger girl-older man' relationships are quite common in society.

Khan who plays the Big B's love interest in the film says, "Well Nishabd is another example of the way Bollywood is growing today. Even though it is an uncommon topic for films, in reality it happens so many times, the film in fact shows the repercussions of such a relationship. "

She stresses that the characters of Vijay (Amitabh Bachchan) and Jia (Jiah Khan) share "pure love" in the film. When asked about the promos of the film that suggest the other way Jiah says its nothing 'but the power of editing'.

The nineteen year-old who was in the Capital recently for the promotion of the film, says she is more than satisfied in bagging the role that most young starlets can only dream of.

"Well one might want to make a debut in a romantic film, an emotional film or likewise but I would say that through 'Nishabd' Ram Gopal Verma gave me 6 different roles in one film, my character in the film is emotional, rebellious, romantic, extreme in emotions, independent, I couldn't have asked for more".

Khan says, she has always hoped for a career in Bollywood and that is why she learned acting in New York.

"The acting we were initially taught at school was method acting, acting based on the past experiences of life and that has helped me a lot here, the confidence I have is because of my acting school," she says.

Even though Khan has studied acting she maintains that doing so before Amitabh Bachchan was a completely different ball game.

"Once you are in front of such a seasoned actor as Amitabh Bachchan, you start from the beginning. "

Apart from acting Khan has actively involved herself in social service, but the medium has again been films. "I worked with Unicef films while I was in London, and worked in films that gave social messages, one film I remember working was on child marriage. "

Talking about the kind of roles she is being offered, Khan who has trained in six dance types says, "Though I am getting all kind of roles I want to do glamorous roles, which has a performance value as well. Most people take me as a westernised girl, but I would just like play an out and out Indian girl, Aishwarya's role in Guru was something I just would just love to do. "

Even though her stint in Bollywood has just begun, Jiah has a lot to say about the industry. The best thing according to her about Bollywood is its entertainment value.

"I see people here in India have so many reasons to be sad but they are not, this is simply amazing for me, the best thing about Bollywood is that it takes you into a different world, far from reality making you forget all your troubles for a while. "
