Elizabeth Hurley weds at English castle

When someone as famous for her glamour as Elizabeth Hurley marries a very wealthy Indian businessman named Arun Nayar, you just know it's not going to be your average weekend wedding. The Associated Press reports that Elizabeth Hurley was marred today in a private civil ceremony at a 15th century castle in Gloucestershire, England. The small town was turned into a paparazzi and fan frenzy over the weekend, as Elizabeth Hurley descended on the area of Western England for her lavish wedding party.

On Friday, the Gloucestershire County Council confirmed that Arun Nayar and Elizabeth Hurley were to marry today at the Sudeley Castle in Winchcombe, which is 125 miles west of London. Later today, Elizabeth Hurley and her groom will hold a blessing and a party at the castle. The castle is owned by a friend of Elizabeth Hurley, Henry Dent-Brocklehurst, who is hosting the wedding, blessing, and party. There is apparently a huge marquee revealing that Sudely Castle is the site for the wedding right on the grounds itself.

Who makes it on the guest list for an Elizabeth Hurley wedding? The AP reports that Elton John, Kate Moss, Donatella Versace, and even Hurley's ex, Hugh Grant, were in attendance. The news service notes that security guards were patrolling the castle grounds today and that a large tent has been erected on the castle grounds in the Cotswold Hills of western England. A covered walkway led guests from the tent in the gardens to the building for the party.

Will we soon see pictures of the Elizabeth Hurley affair? Hello! magazine scored an exclusive access to the event and will likely publish images soon. The couple will soon fly to India for more wedding celebrations in Mumbai and Rajasthan next week.

The AP spoke to Colin Pilcher, a local butcher, who spoke about the chaos surrounding the nuptials of Elizabeth Hurley - "Obviously, people are out celebrity spotting -- I don't think they'll see any but they are out at the thought -- and it's just a lot of excitement for the small town of Winchcombe."

Details are scarce about the ceremony and party, as Elizabeth Hurley has tried to keep it very private, but Sky News did speak to a local Reverend, John Partington, who told them that he would be leading a celebration of the couple's marriage today. "It is the busiest of times, but I'm only as excited as I would be for anyone's wedding."

Elizabeth Hurley is most well-known for her long partnership with Hugh Grant, her performances in Austin Powers and Bedazzled, and her work as the face of Estee Lauder for years. The 42 year-old model and actress hasn't performed as much as she used to, but she is in pre-production on The Last Guy on Earth with Talia Shire, Whoopi Goldberg, Brooke Shields, and Joan Cusack.
